Allergy Season is Here

allergies
Allergies are a common problem. In California, allergy season starts as early as February and it can take a toll on the nasal passages. Allergic rhinitis, sometimes referred to as hay fever, in effect approximately 50,000,000 people in the United States alone. The symptoms include such things as stuffy nose, runny nose, sneezing, as well as itchy and watery eyes.
It can be difficult to focus on anything other than your allergies when you are suffering from them. You may even have to miss out on work or social functions because the allergy symptoms cause such a problem.
When you have back pain, you go to the chiropractor. Did you know that you can also go to the chiropractor during allergy season?

It is important to understand what goes on inside the body when allergies erupt. Mast cells are activated by the body, and the receptors on the surface of the membranes recognize the various substances (the ones that you are allergic to) as harmful. Histamines are then released as a way to help remove the substances – which is why you begin sneezing and coughing.
Chiropractors are able to help because adjustments have a positive impact on the nervous system. When the vertebral subluxations are eliminated and you no longer have a misalignment of the spine, it can remove vocal irritations. This also means that there are no abnormal signals being received by the central nervous system. This ultimately means that the histamines aren’t going to be created because the mast cells aren’t being activated.
One of the leading causes for a person to be hypersensitive to the various allergens in the air is a vertebral subluxation. Many times, we have vertebral subluxations without even knowing it. We may have a few aches and pains and simply ignore it. However, it’s your body’s way of saying that there is a misalignment and that it needs to be addressed.
If you are constantly suffering from allergies, it can be worth it to make an appointment with your chiropractor. You may already be going to a chiropractor because of lower back pain, neck pain, and various other ailments. However, you may be able to get the help with your allergies as well.
Think about being able to enjoy more time outside and not having to reach for allergy medication. You can get more done if you aren’t constantly sneezing and blowing your nose as a result of allergies.
While chiropractic care doesn’t always provide assistance for allergies, it’s worth a try. You may be able to at least reduce the level of symptoms that you experience – and that alone may be well worth it to you.
