Daily activities such as having a desk job or looking down at your phone for too long can cause strain in the neck and shoulders, which leads to neck pain and tension. A chiropractic visit can take care of these problems and provide relief. But to prevent or relieve future neck pain and tension, these are 4 chiropractic approved stretches:

Side Neck Release

Do this stretch by sitting or standing up straight and directing your nose towards your armpit while placing your hand you are looking towards behind your head. Then place your other arm behind your back and gently pull downwards using your hand behind your head for 30 seconds. If you feel a stretch on your neck muscle you are doing it correctly. Repeat the same for the other side.

Hand Clasp Behind Head Stretch

You can do this stretch while sitting or standing up straight. First put your hands together and place your palms behind your head at the base of the skull. Position your elbows parallel to each other and point them towards the floor while relaxing shoulders to feel a stretch in your neck. Hold it for 30 seconds.

Chest Opener

This is the perfect stretch for those with desk jobs. Standing or sitting up straight put your hands together behind your lower back and pull your shoulders down while straightening your arms and squeezing your shoulder blades together. Gently raise your chin up and the tilt your head back and you will a feel a stretch on the front side of your throat. Do this stretch 5 times for 5 seconds.

Double Chin

Another perfect stretch for those that have to work on a computer all day. Do this stretch by sitting or standing up straight. First you take your two fingers and place them on your chin while gently pushing it in creating a double chin. Do this about 10 times.
